Simon is a Research Fellow in the Department of Life Sciences. Before taking up this position in 2025, he was a post-doctoral researcher in the lab of Jody Mason in the same department. Together with Jody, he founded Revolver Therapeutics, a company for developing peptide therapeutics that target transcription factors to unlock new routes to effective cancer treatments. Prior to this, Simon undertook his PhD research in enzymology at Cardiff University, working with Louis Luk.

 

Simon's research interests include peptide-based drug discovery, directed evolution and protein engineering. When not in the lab, Simon enjoys running, road cycling and cooking.
